Unlikely. News sites are reporting the warehouses were storing chemicals.

Those videos are crazy! The local news was showing a couple of them. The one with the guy standing next to the glass doors and gets blown over! Man oh man. Given how big this was, I am really surprised at the low number of deaths being reported!

My daughter's grandparents live in Tanggu which is a district within Tianjin where this happened. Despite living a ways away from that industrial area they still heard and felt the explosion.

Absolutely horrifying. I saw the video of the poor man who had the door fall down on him during one of the explosions. I can't imagine how his loved ones must feel.

I think the Chinese government must be doing spin control on the actual number of deaths and casualties. The numbers don't equate to all the destruction seen on the videos.

I hope the injured recover well and soon. This is a terrible tragedy for the people and their environment.
