export contacts from exchange account on to iCloud?

Is this possible? I have a university email account that I would like to copy my contacts on to my iCloud to have a permanent backup.

If I can't do on my phone, is there another way to copy these contacts from my university email?

What you want to do is export the contacts from the Exchange service into a VCF or VCARD file. Then that can be imported to the contacts on the iPhone. Just email yourself the VCF file and open the VCF attachment on the iPhone and it will import.
