Hi all,

I have the iPhone of a deceased friend of mine. His family would like to view and keep all his past Facebook Messenger conversations. Basically then I'm looking to transfer them to my Mac, so I can put transcripts etc of the chats onto a flash drive to give to them. Ideally still intact with the Messenger layout so photos etc are kept.

The trouble is, I don't know the Facebook password. I am able to go on both Facebook and Messenger apps on the iPhone, as it has been left signed in, but I can't login to the desktop site etc. I'm aware it's quite easy to save everything on the desktop version of the site, just wondering if it's possible through just the iPhone. Ideally without paying for a third party app.

Thanks

Well that sounds like invading their privacy. Hopefully when I die my fingers are ruined so that no one can get into my phone

Wouldn't it depend on the intricacies of the situation? The closeness of friends and family and the understanding you have regarding each others privacy? I feel like I'm a good judge of that in this case.
