As the title says - over time it seems the mouse shortcuts stop working (such as mouse 4 or mouse 5) but the keyboard shortcuts continue to work.

Has anyone experienced this? The only fix is restarted... I tried a sudo killall dock but this doesn't fix it.

Here is how it happened last time:
  • I opened handbrake
  • I pushed mouse 4 to show all four of my desktops
  • The "choose a source" dialogue box opened up and was at teh MIDDLE of the screen - in front of my 4 desktops
  • It took a while and I couldn't really click on the dialogue box but eventually it worked
  • I chose the source, hit ok, chose my desktop, and mouse 4 stopped working

Edit: Something odd (maybe normal?) - in firefox pressing mouse 3 (middle button), mouse 4 or mouse 5 all has the same result of showing the scroll icon.

Anyone have any ideas on how to reset this?

Mine is doing the same thing. The mouse right-click to expand and view all windows just stops working. I have to go into system preferences and drop the scroll down menu. It's still set up to do it, it just won't until I drop down the menu. It seems random at this point, I can't seem to reproduce it. I have 10.5.6 on a Alu iMac 2.4 and a wireless Mighty Mouse.
