Is it possible to get a higher quality sound card for the MacBook Pro that fits in the card slot?

I know they probably exist but will they work on Mac OSX?

oh oh i found a card that is made especially for the mbp. only reason i didnt get it was was because it was in america and i am not. i shall try my hardest to find the link. it was express 54 aswell so u get added speed.

Apogee recently released a sound card created specifically for the MBPs ExpressCard slot. It's ghastly expensive, though, and it's meant to go along with the rest of their high-end audioware.

but to answer your question, yes, it does work in OSX.

The cheap $6 usb sound card I got off ebay works with my imac without any drivers. Its not higher quality but it works.
So I guess most/any usb cards with work with OSX.
