Hi all, apologies in advance if these are novice questions.

1. Is it possible to use an Airport Extreme (4th or 5th generation, I have both) to extend the wireless range of a non-Apple wireless router?

2. Can I use the RJ45 ports on an AE to connect other non-Wifi devices to the Internet if the AE is connected to the Internet only by WiFi? Does this answer depend on whether it is getting its WiFi connection from an Apple or non-Apple device? I can connect one of my AEs to the router if need be (and ditch the non-Apple WiFi device), but the second AE can only be connected wirelessly and I need to be able to connect a non-Wifi device to that using an RJ45 (CAT 5/6) cable.

Many thanks in advance.

No. An AirPort cannot wirelessly extend a non-Apple router. It can however "join the network" and become a wireless bridge. You can use the Ethernet (Cat5/6) and USB ports in that mode as well.
