Extensions in Login Items?

I was going through with the settings in Sequoia, and saw extensions from various app in Login Items, are they working in background? if yes then how i can remove them? and what is the use of it

The panel is called Login Items & Extensions. Extensions are not login items, and will be used only when needed.

If you don't use the extensions, you can click on the category and disable each.
