Just say "comma" and "period" and it'll catch it. You can also say "dash" for "-", backslash and forward slash for "\" and "/", begin quote and end quote, and colon. I'm still trying to figure out parenthesis lol.

I guess I can see why so many people are excited about this. Personally, though, I don't see myself using the speech-to-text feature very often (if at all) because it drives me crazy that it fails to include punctuation. I'm way too OCD about periods and commas.

I think it's freakin awesome that you just replied to something that's centuries old. I thought I was the only one who did that. And thanks for the tip...I finally figured it out, LoL. :)
 
Hmmm. The UK Siri does not understand "period" for this ".". Anyone know what to say in the UK to make it do it? I've tired to say "full stop", or "stop", but Siri simply writes the word.
 
You can also say ampersand for one of these '&'

- I tested out Siri with some sentences that I thought would stump it, but Siri got both of these sentences correct.

"Meet me after third period for lunch (period) We can get something to eat (period)
-To see if Siri knew when I wanted punctuation or if I was referring to a class period.

"What are they doing over there with their toys (question mark) they're driving me crazy (period)"
-To see if Siri knew when to use, there, their, they're

Try saying "dot" see if that works for you.

It should work if you say "open parenthesis" and "close parenthesis"
