Just out of curiosity, does the problem persist if you connect one of the monitors to a port on the opposite side? I'm not too familiar with the newest model but usually a Mac's ports share a bus controller and there's two of them (one per set of ports on each side of the macbook). And there's usually a limitation as to how much graphic data a single bus controller handles. This is also assuming both cables aren't DisplayPort to regular usb-c but instead DisplayPort to Thunderbolt 3 (same physical connection but TB rated cables pass way more data through).

The new 14" & 16" MBP Pro / Max have 3 TB ports each with its own controller.

Hello All,

I am having issues power two external displays with my Macbook Pro M1 Max. I am using two Dell monitors https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DP756Z3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I am using DisplayPort to USB connectors.

When one is connected everything works great, but when two are connected they both shut on and off. Any idea on how to remedy this? Thanks
I read that in order to daisy chain, you will need to use one display port connection and one hdmi or hdmi>usb-c connection. Are you using a dock or plugging both into the MBP?

Wow that's awesome lol and thanks for clarifying. That makes a lot more sense after remembering it handles up to 3 Pro XDR's and a 4k (which I still can't even picture how cool that'd look to see in person)

any updates on this situation? Looking at potentially sending my mini back and getting a MacBook.
