Hi guys
So i finally have my mDP - HDMI adapter connected and up and running on my mbp 2010 and have some questions.

I want either:
1)Use the external display as the only display while being able to use the keyboard and trackpad on my MBP (at 1080p)
or
2)Have both monitors on but the external display with the dock/bar(the main monitor) and my macbook pro as the secondary display.

I hope atleast one way is possible.
Thanks

1) Not possible. You'd need an external keyboard / mouse.

2) Easy. Hook it all up, go to System Prefs > Displays. Drag the menubar on the little diagram from one monitor to the other. Your displays will fade to blue, then back, and your dock and menubar will be on the other display.

Ah that's worked thanks so much 🙂
I was trying for ages fiddling with the two blue screens trying to change the size/reverse them etc.
It was so simple i feel like a complete loser lol.
Thanks again
