Hello,

Just bought a 15" MBP and an external 23" HP w2338h monitor. The monitor has VGA and HDMI inputs. The VGA is OK but occasionally has horizontal moving lines. Nothing too major but annoying. Using the DVI-> HDMI is horrible. The only resolution option in system preferences is interlaced but I found another post that says to use the 'show displays in menu bar' option and choose the non interlaced resolution. This works but still doesn't look great. When launching a game in this mode, it goes back to a very jumpy screen.

Anyone have any hints here? I'm getting pretty frustrated.

Thanks,
Terry

Do you have any other displays you can try hooking the MBP up to? Maybe the screen is defective. If you hook it up to another display and it does the same thing, it might be a bad video card. Good luck.

I can try tonight. However, it only appears to be a problem at 1920x1080. My other monitor only goes to 1440x900.
