I bought a Mini Display port+ USB audio to HDMI adapter for my computer, after i get it all plugged in and everything should it just pop up on the screen or do i need to hit something else, because as of now im getting a No signal on the HDMI input of my tv

its a 2.53 MBP if that matters at all

You may need to go to your display preferences and click detect displays.

I agree with NewMacbookPlz. You may need to just detect it. External monitors aren't always auto detected. For example I always had to detect my TV when it connected it to my old PowerBook.
