hey all,

i've just bought a terabyte external hard drive (lacie). i'd like to partition the drive with one mac extended partition and one ms-dos FAT partition. i was able to do this on my old 500gb external with no problem, but i can't seem to get it to work here.

in disk utility, when i click the partition tab of the drive, i'm not given the option to choose ms-dos, only mac. when i re-format the drive as ms-dos using the erase tab, it succeeds but the drive is still listed as being formatted mac extended (however, the hierarchically lower mounted drive is formatted as ms-dos).

can anyone help?

nevermind! solved. i had to choose a different option under the 'options' window of the partition tab...
