I have an Iomega 1TB external drive that i wish to have seperate password protected and encrypted areas.

The files photos and media stored must be able to work on Mac or Windows.

I have looked around a bit and see people mention Trucrypt but i believe it does not support Lion ?

I also found Lockngo but can't find out much in the way of reviews and if it's worth the money.

Is there a better or free alternative ?

Thanks in advance.

Did you check Trucrypt's website? A quick web search on "trucrypt lion" returned a link to Trucrypt Supported Operating Systems. Just make sure that they have a Mountain Lion version available before you upgrade to Mountain Lion if you start using Trucrypt. I suspect that it won't take them long to support Mountain Lion.
