Cool. I just ordered the Pioneer brand for new iMac M3. I'm still on Sonoma and waiting for the iMac to autoupdate and was worried about compatibility with Sequoia.I’ve been using third party dvd and Blu ray drives since 2012 working just fine all the time
I have that drive. It's great. I don't know how many CDs I've ripped but the total is 39,000 songs. Works great with Sequoia.Cool. I just ordered the Pioneer brand for new iMac M3. I'm still on Sonoma and waiting for the iMac to autoupdate and was worried about compatibility with Sequoia.

If you ever get a disc that will not eject, unplug the drive, then press the eject button while reinserting the USB cable.I just got it and it’s really nice and love the slot loading feature.
Hey that the same way as the SuperDrive worked right? Except on my iMac M3 keyboard with Touch ID there is no eject button. I need to DDG a search on this one.If you ever get a disc that will not eject, unplug the drive, then press the eject button while reinserting the USB cable.
Oh the eject button the drive itself. LOL...I was looking at the keyboard, Apple used to put the eject button there also.I do not know. I never had a SuperDrive.
I've noticed that. Seems like a bug in Mac OS that needs to be fixed.I'm using a Pioneer BDR-XD08U, no issues besides the fact that discs don't have icons on the desktop. It's so idiotic, but macOS does not have a BD icon, nor it displays a generic optical media one. It's just an empty space.
What are program are you using to play BD discs?I'm using a Pioneer BDR-XD08U, no issues besides the fact that discs don't have icons on the desktop. It's so idiotic, but macOS does not have a BD icon, nor it displays a generic optical media one. It's just an empty space.
I'm using a 2019 Intel iMac 5K and the keyboard does have an eject key right between F12 and F13. It works 99.9% of time.Oh the eject button the drive itself. LOL...I was looking at the keyboard, Apple used to put the eject button there also.
I'm only burning M-Discs for backups and archiving, not playing back any media. What are program are you using to play BD discs?
OK. What are you using for that? I started with Aurora Mac Blu-ray Copy, which won't run on anything higher than 10.9. So I wound up using a 2012 Mac mini with High Sierra. Worked great, just took forever. And they playback fine with VLC.I'm only burning M-Discs for backups and archiving, not playing back any media.
