External DVD Burner question

I have an external DVD burner which I made from an external enclosure and an internal DVD burner. This DVD burner functions perfectly on my Windows PC, but, before I switch to Mac, I wanted to know if it will (most likely) work. On the Windows PC, I didn't even have to install any drivers. It just worked.

So, will a new Mac Mini recognize (and be able to use) my USB 2.0 connected external DVD burner?

It should work fine, BUT, when you plug the drive in to your Mac USB port you won't see any indication that it's connected (unlike Windows which pops up a message) because OS X only shows mounted volumes, not empty drives. When you insert a disk however, it should work as normal.
