I bought a USB 2 enclosure and put in a non partitoned 60 gig HD in there (for the time being)..

When I power up the unit I see that disk utility picks it up however it reports it as 2.0 TB USB 2.0 Storage....while I'd love to have two terabytes, this is wrong. It will not let me partition or erase the drive. (There are no volumes listed, obviously)

The only thing I can think of doing is sticking the drive into my brothers 1Ghz G4 PowerMac (which I upgraded from a 350, but that's a different story), formatting it on the IDE Bus as a standard HSF disk and then slapping it back into the enclosure. Windows XP will only format FAT32 as a 32 gig partiton and I have a dual 2.0 G5 and don't feel like trying to hook this thing to the PATA Bus.

Any ideas?
