I have a Seagate 1 TB hard drive connected to a powered USB hub, which is connected to my MacBook Pro when I dock it. The problem is, the hard drive never connects, and I have to unplug the power cord, and plug it back in, in order for my MBP to recognize the drive (or the drive to recognize that its connected to the computer). I figured that the powered USB hub wasn't telling the drive it was disconnected, and it wasn't turning back on. So I unplugged the power adapter for the hub, and the drive still won't function correctly. There are other devices attached to the USB hub that work without a problem.

Do you think there is something with the drive? Or that maybe the drive and USB hubs aren't playing nice? I've had the issue for quite some time, and its getting fairly annoying having to reconnect the drive every time I want to do a back up or grab files from the drive.

Is the drive recognised in Disk Utility when it is NOT visible in Finder?
If so, can you mount it?
