I have a Lacie external drive. The resonation from the drive is transfered into my desk creating a humming sensation. Any of you guys know of a padding or dampening that could help me get rid of this hum (or ideas)?

put it on a towel.

That may sound like a joke, but it's actually really solid advice. Best response I ever got was from ripping apart a towel and layering it once (so that it was folded over once, or there were two layers), then olacing the drive on it. Worked perfectly.
