Sorry Guys if there is thread on this already but i am at a loss.
I have recently purchased a 24" iMac 2.4 and have upgraded to Leopard. I was wanting to use the miracle of time machine (or so I thought) so I plugged in my Western Digital 500GB External Hard Drive, using a Firewire 400 connection and Nothing.
Not one thing happened, the icon will not appeared on the desktop and i cannot gain access to it
I go into the system profiler and see a message in red letters something along the lines of, "Cannot connect Fire wire devices," so to my questions.
1. Has this issue in System profiler got anything to do with the External Hard Drive (I assume it does)
2. Is there setting I need to change?
3. Has anyone experienced these same problems???
4. Is there a way to fix it??
Any help appreciated.
thanks, Freedom
