My External Hard drive is seriously playing up. I've tried using disk utilities, as well as going into terminal to mount, repair and erase but I can't seem to access it at all.

Any step through guides / help would be appreciated.

Most likely either a) drive or controller board failing or b) not enough power, potentially due to cable being used. Has the drive been tried on a different computer, and do you have an alternate cable to try?

I've tried it on another Mac. I haven't tried it on a PC yet to see if that can work. I've tried a different cable and nothing different. I've also just done and force unmount which worked but then did a force mount of the same disk but it would not do it.
