External Hard drive not recognized by the Apple TV

I bough an Apple TV recently. I got a 1 Therabite seagate hard drive but my apple tv does not recognize it. I plug a smaller hard drive (100 MB) and it reads it very well.
Could anybody suggest what the problem could be?

I guess I just assumed the OP did a hack to be able to read the smaller external because, yes, ATV does not natively read external HDDs.

I think to get better help, you need to tell what hack/software add-on you used to be able to view the external so others who have done this might be able to help you out. 😱

To be able to use an External USB drive you need to use Patchstick or ATV Flash to run a hack that enabled external storage.
