External hard drive not working in SL

I just upgraded to snow leopard and when I try to plug in my external hard drive I get a prompt saying "the disk inserted was not readable by this computer." It was working before when I was running leopard.

What kind of drive?

Have you checked on the manufacturer website for any support announcements in relation to SL compatibility?

its a western digital drive. it wasn't left formatted to fat 32. It was formatted for mac osx
