Hello

My new 13" is finally up and running. Now I've been looking at both external hdds and ssds.

Option 1: Buy external hd, use that for backup
Option 2: Buy ssd, use the stock mac hdd for backup

Which would you guys get?

Depends on your budget and needs. If you can afford the SSD you need (+100GB), sure, go for it but that will set you back ~300$ at least, even more if you need +200GB.

I personally dont use up a lot of space. I think any computer 150gb is plenty enough for me.

This is mostly to have some sort of external hard drive available so I can use time machine in case anything goes wrong.

Well, 160GB SSD is already 450$... Just get a hard drive unless you can afford a big SSD

right on~

Will probably pick up a 320 2.5" hdd.

Is building my own worth saving a few bucks over ordering a pre-assembled one?
