My biggest concern with this is heat. Off the shelf consumer SSDs already have borderline thermals in a lot of cases. Wrapping them in a couple extra layers of vinyl/plether isn't going to help. Just out of curiosity, how do you manage your data with having small internal?

In theory, I need to offload my photo and music library to an external drive.. which is a pain because I then always need to remember to have the external drive with me.

About $2 worth of standard velcro does the trick for me. No real need for the sleeve... unless you're hung-up on looking like you spent a bunch of money on things that only serve utilitarian needs.
