External Hard Drive Works on Mac, but not iPad?

Hello there,

I’m struggling to get my usb-c external hard drive working on the iPad. It did when I first bought it a year ago. But now it only connects to the Mac and does so really quickly, the iPad refuses to see it. I reformatted it again to see if that was the issue, but still nothing. Any ideas? Trying to connect to 2020 iPad Pro over usb c.

I have found that my Samsung 1tb external SSD does eventually register in files on iPad, but it isn’t instantaneous. I think it takes a while for the iPad to read it. Mine does have 400gb of videos on it though.

My Samsung T5 works fine. Does take about 10 seconds to pop up though.

Yea it is an odd thing - it works right away on the Mac, but I do wait for a long time and nothing on the iPad.
