external hard drive?

i'm looking for an external hard drive in the 500gb up range. i was hoping for a portable one that i can easily carry around to school. can't be too expensive either as i'm on a student budget.

any advice?

just a tip as you want to carry it around with you at school im guessing you want it to be BUS powered (doesnt need AC power) and only 2.5" notebook drives can be BUS powered. go to a cheap place like Newegg and buy a 500 GB 2.5" hard drive and a 2.5" case and then assemble it yourself. its easy and cheaper.

It's discontinued according to Cupertino, you can search around or look at LaCie's portables or Western Digital's.
