I have an early 2008 white 2.4 ghz core 2 duo macbook.. haven't backed up any of my data since I bought the laptop.. I know very bad.

Anyways I decided it's time to invest in an external hard drive just incase...
I'm looking for at least 500GB in the 100$ range..

I want something reliable and easy to use!

    Thank you!

You can get 1TB for around 80 USD with a 3.5" HDD, and 750GB to 1TB for around 100 USD for a 1TB HDD.
Look at products from Western Digital and Seagate, but know, that every HDD is bound to fail, so if you have money later, buy another external HDD to make another backup of the backup.
I have two backups of my important data on two different HDDs.

    Maybe it can help too:
And then there is this guide by thegoldenmackid, which is a bit older, but may still help:
    External Hard Drives

And via MRoogle you can find countless threads about external HDD advice.

I actually live in Canada so if you could post some links from specific online sellers that would be great.
I head bad things about WD passport drives... hows LaCie? I had trouble finding Seagate drives online
