Okay, someone please help. I was transfering a lot of files from an external hd to my powermac g4 over firewire and all of the sudden the files started disapearing one by one until finally the icon for the external hd was gone. Now when I try to reconnect it or connect it to my powerbook, it says that it's not a format os x can read but I know it is because when I bought it, I had to reformat it to HFS+ using my powermac so I know it can read it. What should I do? Those were every movie I've ever made, every photo I've ever taken, and every other document I've ever created.

My power mac crashed so I had to back up all the files and reinstall the OS but when I tried to restore the files this happened.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Ouch. I had that happed a while back but luckily I had backed some stuff up....if software doesn't work try drive savers ( http://www.drivesavers.com/ ), they cost a bunch, but they'll get your data if its that important to you. Hope this helps.:)
