external HD cannot be recognized again..

HEllo, I had a bit of a problem today with my external HD, which is an internal HD with an enclosure. I have a large movie library and as I was placing it on a chair, it started to slip and i caught it mid-air, but something sounded discordant inside and i turned it off immediately. I tried plugging it in again and it doesn't recgonize it, even though when i turn on the drive the light is green and it sounds like there is nothing amiss now, just that it won't show up in my desktop. Help! Is my harddrive broken? Or can i try some magic to revive it? Comments would gladly be appreciated...

Hmm... Try repairing it with Disk Utility.
