Hello,

I have an external hard drive that I used to back up my Mac Book Pro via time machine. I need to get a lot of files off of a PC computer but the HD simply won't mount. What can I do? Thanks in advance

It won't mount because it's most likely formatted into HFS. You can check this by going into Disk Utility, clicking on the disk, and reading its "Format" beneath "Mount Point" on the bottom. If it says "Mac OS Extended" it is an HFS drive that Windows can't access without some modification. Check out software like MacDrive (not free) or something similar if I've correctly assumed the drive's format.
