I have an external Firewire 800 and an external USB drive attached to my MBP. I am running an external monitor and have closed the cover (the screen) of the MBP.
At random times, one or both external drives "die". They go to sleep and become unresponsive... EVEN if they are in use! For example, say I am downloading some files and I want them stored on my external Firewire drive... it shuts off in the middle of the night and the file aborts.
This is driving me nuts! 😡
