External HDD Help!

My external HDD has been acting weird. Is anyone else having problems with external drives on 10.4.11?

Thanks. Randomly from time to time the drive clicks and restarts itself again. Recently it has been getting worse and the drive completely spins down and the drive LED stays on red. The drive is a 112GB drive in a USB 2.0 Acomdata enclousure.

It sounds like your drive is on its way out, invest in a new drive and backup any important data on the drive as soon as possible.

I guess it might be on it's way out. I forgot to mention that the drive was knocked over once a few months ago. Thankfully it was not on at the time and seemed alright. Too bad it has all my music and movies on it. Gotta go find some DVD's to back up to..🙁
Edit: This usually happens when watching quicktime movies from the drive.
