Sorry if this has already been posted I am a brand new user to these forms.

The problem I am having is that i need to format my External 750 Gb WD Hdd to be read both by mac OS X and by vista. I also need the ability to save files of a size greater than the 3 gb that fat32 allows. Basically what I am doing is taking 10 and 12 gb files from my back and needing to transfer them to my pc.

Thanks.

Fat32 allows any size file you want. You simply cant use files bigger than 3.3GB if you have Windows installed on a Fat32 formatted drive (some stupid Microsoft limitation), but since its an external hard drive i assume you wont be in this situation :)

I transfer files on my 500GB WD drive formatted in Fat 32 that are about 22.0 GB sometimes so i know its not an issue.

Just try it, your not going to die and you would have known its possible without having to wait a month for my answer.
