Hello peeps! I have a stock Apple HDD in a external enclosure that has three partitions, TimeMachine backups, OSX ESD, and storage. The TM partition keeps un-mounting from the desktop and then TM cannot recognize the disk for backup. Normally all three partitions show on my desktop when the drive is connected. Last time this happened I erased the whole drive and started over. I do not want to do this again. Do you think this is a sign that the HDD is failing? I am repairing the TM partition now in disk utility, maybe that'll work. Has this happened to anybody before with external drives? Thanks!

Edit: Well the repair disk worked. The partition is now showing on my desktop and TM is running like normal. Why has this happened twice already?
