Hey, guys,

I'm using my late 2011 MBP in clamshell mode, along with a USB hub, where I connect my USB-powered HDD (the other USB port is taken by an external video card for my second monitor). However, recently, I started noticing that when waking the computer, I get a notification saying that the drive was not ejected properly, and basically can't be accessed again until I repair it, which is worrying me.

I'm wondering if there's anything I can tweak, or if I shouldn't rely on the hub and just physically disconnect it when I put the computer to sleep.

Thanks!

That one of the typical drives off a USB hub behaviors. Sometimes a computer restart will straighten things out, sometimes not. Some say the drive or hub does not wake up quick enough and the computer thinks it was unmounted improperly. On the other hand... perhaps it does need repair, did you run disk utility's disk repair? Did you recently upgrade the OS?

Yes, twice, and repaired the drive. I'm running 10.10.3.
