External Magic Keyboard TouchID Stopped Working

I recently updated to 26.4 on MacOS. My external Magic Keyboard has Touch ID and it was working perfectly. Now it does not register a finger on the sensor at all.

Is anyone having a similar issue? I'm hoping it is a bug and a future update or firmware update will fix it.

Are you leaving it plugged in? I've run into problems with Touch ID occasionally with my keyboard connected. Typically disconnecting it (let it work via Bluetooth) will resolve the issue; then can plug it back in... once in a while also have to restart.
