Any recommendations for a side thunderbolt 3 monitor for a 2020 iMac? At least 27” but would prefer 32”, 4K or 5k

TIA

A list that may be of some help:
IPS Monitor List: Best AHVA, PLS & IPS LCD Displays

Also, read amazon reviews, PC site reviews, etc. on those displays that interest you.

Not many 5k displays out there, and all are pricey.
Lots of 27" 4k displays.

Seems to me a 32" 4k display would look strange running in HiDPI mode ("looks like 1080p").
You could run it "in scaled mode" for 1440p, but that would put a heavier load on the GPU and the fans might be likely to spin up often.

On the other hand, a 32" QHD NATIVE 1440p display would run easily...

Thanks. So what I'm using at the moment is the Apple 27" Thunderbolt Display which is 1440 which has been great for years, but when I look at it now, the text looks like crap, obviously after getting used to the iMac screen now. So I am just basically looking for a step up, sort of like Retina display quality or something closer to the iMac.

Only Retina option is the LG 5K Ultrafine (which is the same panel as the iMac 5K uses). Otherwise, a good IPS 27" QHD would be your next best option, IMO.

I have an ASUS 27" ROG Swift QHD gaming monitor which I use with both my 2017 iMac 5K and Alienware Aurora gaming machine (since it has both HDMI and DP inputs) which works pretty well, though it was quite pricey.

I am using a 27" 4K LG UL850 next to my 27" iMac and tbh it is pretty good ! Connects via USB-C / Thunderbolt 3
