The dvi cable I used on my pc for my external monitor does not really fit into my MBP. You have to push really hard, or it will loose the connection. It won't screw in. I am guessing it's becaues the MBP has a dual DVI, while I must have a single DVI cable? How can I fix this? Will a dual cable fit into my single dvi monitor?

A single link DVI cable should work fine with the MacBook Pro, in fact I'm using a single link DVI cable with mine right now. I'm almost positive that it's a bad cable, try another one.
