External Monitor Question

Hi All,

Question for everyone regarding external monitors:

I just purchased a Asus VE247H 24-Inch Full-HD LED Backlight LCD Monitor and the quality is horrible compared to my retina screen. I can't read the words on a PDF on the external monitor:

  • Do I have to upgrade to a new monitor?
  • Do I have to adjust the settings somewhere to make it more clear?
  • If I upgrade monitor do I have to get a 4K monitor?
