Hello. Can anyone recommend a great monitor for desktop use? Or point to a list updated for 2016? I have a 13" rMBP right now and it's just too small of a screen. I'm trying to utilize desk space so I have my laptop sitting on a stand and now located on an angle to the right of my sitting position. I'm really thinking I should have went with an iMac instead. If I place the laptop in front of me on the stand then it's pretty good. That's how I originally had it. But it's still a small screen. Any ideas?

Just go with anything cheap that is bigger than 19", and has at least 1080p (HD) and hdmi. It will at least double your screen real state and it won't hurt your wallet. The colors/temperature/brightness can always be calibrated/adjusted once is in your desk.

I also have a 13rMBP and got a 24 inches LG in a sale for about 90 usd. I use my laptop angled on the right on a stand, with a Mighty Mouse, a Logitech USB keyboard, and the monitor is to my left. It is an efficient desktop arrangement.

You unfortunately won't get a proper experience with a Retina-quality 4K monitor on a 2014 13".

So my recommendation is the 2560x1440 Dell UltraSharp U2515H.

Yeah the 2014 doesn't do 4K properly for some reason. Would be cheaper for me though to get the 24" (1920x1200).

Yeah I thought of doing that but not sure I need two displays.

iavery asked:
"Y'all think a refurbed tb display for 600-800 is worth it?"

No.
Take your money and buy something new.
