Is anyone running beta IPADOS16? I downloaded it today. So far everything I’ve tried works except external display. I tested the hub with my macbook and its good. Any suggestions?

Do you get anything on the monitor? Did you connect a mouse at the same time? If you don't, you just get a mirrored display.

I didn't get anything from the iPad, no mirror or anything. But the Mac plugged into same hub works fine.

Did the same hub + cable work with 15.x? I have an M1 12.9 and it works on 16 beta with an Anker hub and HDMI cable (and with USB-C to DisplayPort).

Yes, the mirroring with the black bars worked just fine. Its a Samsung display with a Hyperdrive hub and HDMI cable.

As @sparksd mentioned… did you connect a keyboard and mouse to that same hub? A keyboard AND mouse is required to use Stage Manager. And what iPad are you using?

I had it connected to the MK, its the M1 12.9 IPP 2TB. The multi tasking option was showing up on the IPAD it was just the external display doing nothing.

if you connect the hub to your iPad is it recognized, do you get a status icon?

The iPad needs to be connected to a mouse and keyboard for Stage Manager external display to work

The obvious first (sorry for that): Restart the iPad while the hub without any other peripherals is connected. Check/visually inspect the connector on the iPad and the cable. If the cable between iPad and hub can be detached, try another, shorter one (like the included cable from a Samsung or Sandisk SSD). If the hub provides power thru, connect it to power and then to the iPad. Last: check without the MK.

I tried and no dice. Same problem, hub provides pass through power, but still doesn't show is docked in the upper right.

Is it a DisplayLink hub by any chance? I had the same problem with my DisplayLink hub which worked previously. I ended up buying a simple cheap hub off Amazon instead that wasn't using DisplayLink.
It turns out is is the hub. I picked up a USBC to HDMI Cable today and the display came right up and works. Thanks for the replies!

That's interesting, given the popularity of the HyperDrive hubs. You'll have to recheck as new versions of 16 come available. Glad you got something to work.
