Hey all -

I have a 2014 MacBook Air, and we bought an hp27es monitor and have it connected with an hdmi to mini display cable. I've switched the cable with a new one and didn't fix it.

What happens is that, usually when it wakes up from sleep, the screen is a yellow hue. I can correct it temporarily by restarting the computer or sometimes by turning on and off the monitor or playing with the inputs.

Any ideas what could be causing this, and how I might fix?

thanks
Garrett

Now that you say it, I noticed a yellow tint to my external display too (MB Air 2017 to HP Pavilion 23xi Monitor, connected via mini display port to hdmi cable)

Looks like nightshift being active on the external display only (without nightshift being switched on though) ... didn't think much of it until I read this post

The monitor itself is not the problem (working fine when connected to other devices)

Will try to figure out how to solve this as soon as I can

Did a little research in the meantime, take a look here:

similar problem, has never been solved

OK, confirmed, in my case it was just night shift that is being interpreted differently by the built in display and the external monitor, making the latter appear more yellow

just check if this could be your case, too

good luck!

Hi,

I'm not sure I understand your resolution, my external monitor is in night shift mode every time it wakes up. Despite night shift being completely turned off.

It's driving me up the wall! :(

Thanks,
James

Hi,

I've tried every suggestions but nothing helped to my 2011 MacBook Pro (High Sierra).

Any other tip, please?
