External portable HDD for iPad Pro Air

At the weekend I ordered the latest Ipad pro Air for a friend of mine who is about to start university in a couple of days. At her orientation she was told that she would be required to be downloading pdf files and movie clips relevant to the subjects which she is taking. I see that there is only a 256 gb Ipad Pro Air available and am wondering whether anybody else can suggest how to get move storage space? E.g. is there, e.g. a suitable 500gb memory key or external hdd which she could plug in.

Thank you. I didn't see anything about an Ipad for Samsung T5 when I googled but now looking at the FileBroswer Go it looks like it would just do the trick. Thank you.

Agree here (I have both the T5 and FileBrowser Pro) but at this point I would opt for the more recent - and faster - T7.

Once again, thank you for the recommendations. I was on the point of purchasing the Samsung T7 1TB when I checked the compatible devices and nowhere does it mention Apple ones. I need this external for an Ipad Pro Air. Samsung's homepage lists the following only:

Are any of you actually using it with an Ipad? Because the connections which seem to come in the box wouldn't support an Ipad.

I had kind of gotten my hopes up on getting the Samsung T7 too.
If this isn't possible, can somebody else suggest another external extremely light weight portable that would do the trick please.

Issued resolved. I contacted Samsung support and they confirmed for me that I am safe to go ahead and get the T7 as I wanted.

My experience with FileBrowser - been using it a long time and it works reliably transferring many and/or large files across my network and to/from attached storage, areas where I have had multiple issues with the Files appI no longer use it). In simple terms, it just works very well. I had a long thread on Files problems -
