External Speakers Question

I tried plugging in my PC's external speakers into the connection beside the phonephone connections and got no sound.....firstly is the right input?

If so why wasnt I hearing anything?

What am I doing wrong?

One jack on a MacBook is input, the other stereo (2ch) output. If you have two single conductor plugs, you will need an adapter to merge them to a 3-conductor 3.5mm plug.

I have a right and left speaker with the cables running together which has a male end into the PC and power to outlet...I tried it in the input beside phonephone input but nothing

You want the plug with the headphone symbol over it. When you change the volume by the keyboard does the bar fill change?

Go to sound preferences to see if the computer is recognizing it.

System Preferences->Sound

The "Internal Speakers" should say "Headphones"
