    Hello all,

I am thinking of adding a set of external speakers w/sub to my iMac. The problem is I am not sure of how/if it's possible. All the products I see all come with several cables to be plugged in presumably to a Windows based PC.

Below is one of the sets I was looking at earlier today at Best Buy:

    http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-9702...f=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&s=pc&qid=1239065192&sr=1-10

So I guess my question is, is there a way to make external speakers with a sub work on one's iMac?

    Thanks
    David

Just find speakers that use a 3.5mm miniplug.

Funny you should ask... I just bought these speakers in question AND JUST posted about them a thread below this:

There is a somewhat noticeable 'fuzz' sound when the volume of the speakers is set high and no music is playing... but I really enjoy the sound quality (especially after enduring music without any subwoofer). I think you'll like 'em, especially with the cheap pricetag.

any speakers will work. you can get 5.1 out of that jack too.

as you can with the airport express.

Then what kind of adapter is needed? All of the 5.1 speakers I've seen all have gobs of wires. and of course, the Mac only has 1 input.
