Hello people,
I'm editing videos on my iMac 14,2 in Final Cut Pro.
As you know, the replacement of a SSD in iMac is not possible, so I want to buy an external SSD for moving my project on that drive.
I will use the SSD via USB because thunderbolt solutions are to expensive and I don't want to spend so much money.
My only concern is the TRIM, because external devices connected via USB are not supporting TRIM.
Do you have any experience for editing videos on external SSDs via USB?
Did you recognoze some performance drop from the SSD?
Or is TRIM just overrated, so that I can ignore this function?
Many thanks in advance
