I have a 8TB Vecto Tech SSD connected to a iMac (12.6 Monterey) with USB 3.0. In disk utility the drive shows as "type: disk" but all other connected SSDs--through either Thunderbolt/USB C or USB A--read as "solid state." Is this a problem or can I ignore it? The drive seems to be performing well otherwise.

Ignore. It's probably caused by the hardware (adapter board) used for the connection.

I have two SSDs connected via SATA to USB "ASMT" adapter boards and they also say "Disk".
Thanks! I kind of figured that but wanted to be sure it wasn’t causing any optimization problems or something else.
