I picked up the SanDisk - Extreme Portable 2TB External USB-C NVMe SSD from Best Buy.

It’s on sale this week for $135.

It’s working out fine for offloading the years of photos I’ve been carrying around on my phone.

Of course, no one is expecting a top-tier user experience working in the iOS Files app.

But for me, coping with Files UI has been better than steadily strangling the 256GB storage drive in my new 16 with even more photos 😂

Unfortunately File app is very bad to move many files at once.

If we just could plug our iPhones into our computers, and move files and photo's, without using the cloud to download them or an App.
