Extra 6 pin to power more internal drives?

I'll be replacing my 5870 with a 650 Ti Boost soon so I'll have a free 6-pin cable doing nothing. Is it possible to power a 2.5 drive and 3.5 drive in the optical bay using the 6-pin and an internal Sata PCI-e card?

The 6 pin PCIe connector only supplies 12 volts. Drive power connectors supply both 12 volt and 5 volt.
